Uploading receipts in the app

All Cardholders can take advantage of their device’s camera, photo library or file storage to upload card receipts or other receipt documentation to card transactions for quick and easy reconciliation.

Adding a receipt creates a new Purchase Receipt in the system using our AI-powered data extraction for the details and line items. Admins can view them as Purchase Receipts on desktop to review and accept (or decline).

Who can upload receipts to card transactions?

All cardholders can upload receipt images to their own card transactions in the app.

Uploading a receipt to a transaction

Add receipt combo

  1. Navigate to a card’s transaction detail (tap a transaction in the list that requires a receipt)
  2. In the transaction detail view, select ‘Add Receipt’ at the bottom
  3. Select a tracking category and add any notes in the description – this is useful for admins to understand any details about the purchase.
  4. There’s 3 ways to upload a receipt:
    • Camera: simply take a photo of the receipt with your phone’s camera – you may need to grant permission for the app to use your camera first
    • Photos: Select a photo of a receipt from your phone’s photo library
    • Files: Select a file from your phone’s file management system
  5. The receipt will be added to the transaction – select ‘Add’ to confirm
  6. The receipt upload will show as processing – you can close the view while this is happening.
  7. You can add further receipts to the same transaction if necessary, by repeating the process with the ‘Add Receipt’ button.

Receipt tips

Make sure receipt images are clear and in focus

Photos of receipts captured on your phone are fine, even if they’re a little crumpled, but try to flatten the receipt as much as possible before taking a photo – this will result in more accurate data extraction.

Other receipt documentation such as PDFs attached to purchase confirmation emails will also work as long as they contain all the receipt information required.
