In order to sign up for an eMoney account provided by Modulr, we require the following information.
What you need
The application requires you to enter some details about your business and the individuals involved in the ownership, depending on your business type, so it's good to have the following information to hand completing your application.
Partner users – you'll be asked to enter some of this information to add a new customer.

🚧 Important – Charities
Currently we can ONLY accept applications from charities of the following types:
- Private Company – Limited by Guarantee
- Community Interest Company (CIC)
Also, the entity MUST be registered with the appropriate charity commission in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
📘 Important – what to include in the application
Company Type
- Ensure that you select the right company type.
Admin User
- Where applicable, nominate an Admin User – the person that will administer Modulr accounts, managing and approving payments.
The Applicant
- Include full details (full name (including middle name), DOB, home address) of the Applicant (where requested) – the person responsible for the application and will be the contact if further details are required
- Include full name and date of birth of all Directors/Partners/Trustees where requested
Depending on the type of business, the Applicant should be:
- Limited Companies – One of the Directors
- Sole Traders – The Owner
- Ordinary Partnerships – One of the Partners
- Limited Liability Partnerships and LLPs – One of the Partners.
Beneficial Owners (Shareholders)
- Please provide details of ALL the Beneficial Owners of the business. Beneficial Owners are individuals who own 25% or more of the business.
- Note: Where the business is owned by another business (a parent company), the Beneficial Owner may be a shareholder of that parent company. Please include these individuals if, as a result of the ownership, they would own 25% or more of the applying business.
- If nobody owns at least 25% of the business, please add the majority owner(s) of the business as the Beneficial Owners.
- Exact percentage of shareholding or of partnership split between Partners is required for all UBOs/Partners with ownership of 25% or more where requested.
ID and Proof of Address Documents
- Ensure that you attach a colour scanned copy of the original identification document for all UBOs/Partners where requested.
- Attach a copy of a proof of address document dated within the last 3 months for all UBOs/Partners where requested.

📘 Complex / Multi-Company ownership
If another company or companies are involved in the ownership of the business, please upload an Ownership Structure Chart / Certified Structure Chart in the ‘Business Information’ section of the application. This will enable us to process your application more quickly.
This should be dated and certified as a true and accurate reflection of the current corporate structure by a solicitor or a chartered accountant.
